Our Scout Troop (ages 10-14) started the year in the usual way by taking part in Wintercamp at Gilwell Park in early January. Activities included stand-up paddle boarding at the whitewater centre in the Lee Valley Park.

Once again we were privileged to join the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for their Remembrance Sunday wreath-laying ceremony at their war memorial on Holborn.

Eleven of our Scouts took part in the Chiltern 20 Challenge in mid-October. This annual 20km navigation competition has been running for 35 years, and so Anna, Sadie and Alice got a special award for being the 35th team to reach the finish point. The Scout Troop had a successful ‘long weekend’ camp at Longridge by the Thames at Marlow this autumn half term. We completed level 3 of the Emergency Aid badge, cooked on open fires in the pouring rain, went canoeing on the Thames and tried climbing, crate stacking and jacob’s ladder.
