As a nationally and internationally-recognised measure of personal achievement the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is the ideal complement to the Scout Association’s own awards.
The Award is a big part of the programme for Explorer Scouts (14-18) and members of the Scout Network (18-25).
At 8th Holborn we host a year-round (September to July) expedition training programme for Scouts from across North London Scout District (Camden, City, Haringey & Islington), as well as Scouting and Guiding friends from further afield.
We have a programme of monthly training sessions through the school year, culminating in the expeditions in the summer. Please check our calendar to find out the date of our next training evening.
As a Scout Group we have an obvious opportunity for participants to complete the Volunteering section of the Award by working as Young Leaders, Section Assistants or Leaders with the Beaver Scout Colony, Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop.
