It was good to be back at Coram’s Fields fireworks display for the first time since 2019, with the Scouts helping to sell merchandise in support of Coram’s Fields.

A dozen bleary-eyed 8th Holborn Scouts gathered at 6am at Marylebone Station to head to Princes Risborough where we joined more than 450 Scouts for the Chiltern 20 Challenge. 12 of our Scouts gained their Expedition Challenge this month, hiking between Tolmers and Danemead campsites in Hertfordshire. At Danemead they lit fires and cooked meals before camping in tents and under shelters. Our dozen Scouts from 8th Holborn were part of a larger event organised by North London Scout District.

Five of our Scouts went sailing at ESSA Water Activities Centre in Hertfordshire as part of North London Scout District’s annual sailing day.

For our first ‘proper’ camp for more than two years, we took part in the Feb Freezer camp organised by Paccar Scout Camp in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. There were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy, but simple pleasures like toasting marshmallows were among the highlights.
